I love mixing prints; it's a great way to be funky and on-trend while injecting even more personality into an outfit. I usually keep my print-mixing to the classics; florals with stripes, stripes with polka dots, polka dots with digital prints.

I've been wanting to mix florals for ages but have never quite found the right prints. A goal that will definitely be reinvigorated as the weather heats up and summer arrives.

I bought these pieces separately from different stores because I loved the prints. I then noticed (as they lay on the bedroom floor next to each other) that they were very similar! Both are black and white swirly floral prints, the pants bolder, the peplum more intricate. Put together they look fab! Different enough to be considered mixed-prints, similar enough to work in harmony. Throwing on a solid coloured cardigan and it's an easy quick on-trend look. Comfortable for work and fashionable enough for after-work drinks. I prefer this with a mustard yellow cardigan but unfortunately my beloved yellow cardi went to heaven (or hell as she was a cheap bitch...).

Peplum top: ASOS Curve
Harem trousers: My Size
Cardigan: Target
Shoes: Sportsgirl

Half the comments I get on this outfit are compliments, the other half state my outfit looks like a curtain. But I choose to take the latter as compliments as well. Hence this outfit has a 100% success rate!
